The Pain Management Programme

UI, UX and animation design for Leva Clinic's 12 module pain management programme. Created to help chronic pain sufferers live with their pain in a mindful way.

Flexible modular system with a simple, clear experience.

The Pain Management Programme was originally designed to be a web application that could be accessed via Leva Clinic's patient portal. Upon the development of the Leva Clinic app, it made sense to bring the PMP into the app.

The course is divded into 12 sections, each with approx. 16 tracks, categorised into educational, mindfulness and goal setting related content.

SVG Animations were created for banners and the audio player

In order to enhance the user experience of the PMP app, I meticulously developed SVG animations for each module hero banner, as well as accompanying animations for each track within the audio player. While these features may appear cosmetic at first glance, they play a crucial role in elevating the overall patient experience. Notably, the mindfulness content was enriched with a brief guided breathing animation strategically designed to promote relaxation among users.

An easily accessible course, nested in a bigger application.

The Leva app is much wider in scope than just the Pain Management Programme, including prescription, consultation and medication review services, so we wanted to make sure the programme was easily accessible from multiple touch points across the app.

Users have the ability to find the Programme in the app's learn section, supplmented by articles - or they can find daily snippets of PMP content to consume from the today section.

Progress Tracking and Motivational Language

Leva Clinic understands their patient base. By conducting surveys and interviewing existing patients, we delved into their motivations, daily routines, and enthusiasm levels for the course.

In direct response to the feedback gathered, a strategic enhancement was introduced: the integration of progress tracking. This feature serves as a dynamic tool, offering patients a clear indication of their journey and introducing an element of gamification to the overall experience. This not only imparts a tangible sense of accomplishment but also complements the audio content seamlessly.
